Kuwait reports three COVID-19 deaths, 1,479 new cases, 1,256 recoveries

— At least 1,479 people have been infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, taking overall infections to 318,676, Spokesman for the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said Monday.

The number of those recovered from the virus pandemic in the same period hit 1,256, increasing total recoveries to 302,393, he told KUNA.

The death toll from the disease rose to 1,798 after registering three mortalities in the corresponding period, Al-Sanad noted.

He pointed out that 14,485 patients are being treated at hospitals, in addition to 153 cases at intensive care units.

The number of medical swabs has climbed to 2.682 million after conducting 11,911 in the same period, he stated. The ratio between recoveries and swabs is 12.42 percent today.

Al-Sanad renewed call for both citizens and residents to abide by health precautions and physical distancing, as well as avoid gatherings.

He also appealed to the public to follow up official accounts of the ministry and the state’s bodies to be briefed on guidelines and recommendations in order to control the spread of the virus.
