Kuwait signs joint statement with Cook Islands

– The State of Kuwait signed a joint statement with Cook Islands to establish diplomatic relations.

Kuwait Ambassador in New Zealand Ahmad Al-Wuhaib told KUNA, viaa phone call on Wednesday, that he signed the joint statement with Cook Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand Elizabeth Wright. Al-Waheeb stated that the importance of relations with the Cook Islands lies in the political, economic, investment and tourism fields, pointing out that Cook has promising investment and tourism opportunities and is an active member of many UN organizations and agencies.

Kuwait is the 57th country to sign an agreement with the Cook Islands, added Al-Wuhaib, expressing his aspiration as well as Wright’s aspiration to coordinate efforts in support of bilateral relations and international efforts in the interest of both countries.
