Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Development Hamad Al-Mashaan said on Sunday that Kuwait was preparing to host an international meeting on May 24 to fight terrorism.

In a statement for KUNA, Al-Mashaan said that this came as part of Kuwait’s efforts in fighting terrorism, which was embodied in the participation of Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Sabah in the ministerial meeting of the global coalition to defeat the so-called Islamic State (IS), which was held in Marrakech, Morocco on May 11.

He added that Kuwait has participated in several meetings internationally or locally to fight off (IS).

In that context, he affirmed the necessity of discussing new ways to rehabilitate fighters in combat areas after fair trials to blend them in society.

He also stressed on the importance of finding solutions for the upcoming phase by cooperating, brainstorming and exchanging information between member countries
