The Kuwaiti cycling team on Friday won the silver medal in the first individual time trial (ITT) competition, held as part of the Third GCC Sports Games hosted by Kuwait.

The UAE team of cyclists snatched the gold medal and the Bahraini team bagged the bronze one.

The race kicked off early Friday on Sheikh Jaber Bridge. The UAE team grouped Said Al-Kaabi, Jaber Al-Mansouri, Yousef Al-Mansouri and Mohammad Mirza.

The competing Kuwaiti cyclists are Saeed Al-Ali, Khaled Al-Khlaifah, Abdulhadi Al-Ajmi, Abdulrahman Al-Mansour, while the Bahrain team grouped Ahmad Khalil, Ahmad Medan, Yahia Khalifa and Ahmad Nasser.

The tournament will witness, on Sunday, a single bike race on the bridge that snakes across Kuwait Bay, one of the longest bridges globally.
