Kuwaiti parliament adjourns session due to gov’t absence

– National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim adjourned the parliament’s special session on Thursday, due to the absence of the government.

In a speech prior to canceling the session, Al-Ghanim noted that according to article 116 of the constitution the session was adjourned due to the government absence.

Article (116) of the Constitution, in its last paragraph, indicated the following: “The Cabinet must be represented in the Parliament’s sessions by its president or some of its members,” said Al-Ghanim.
