– The Head of Kuwait Winter Games Club Fahad Al-Ajmi announced that the International Ice Hockey Federation approved the participation of the Kuwaiti national team in the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championship Division 4, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan from 3-9 next March, with the participation of six Asian teams.

In a statement to KUNA Sunday, Al-Ajmi said the competition includes the teams of Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan and Iran, noting that the champion moves to the higher level in the next tournament, as it is held once every two years.

The team will prepare well to compete in this vital tournament, as it will set up a training camp in Turkey next December, before participating in the third Gulf Sports Games hosted by the country next January, he added.

He commended the General Sports Authority’s support for his team as well as overcoming obstacles to participate in the five winter games
