Kuwait’s IICO signs agreement to finance 750 Jordanian students

Kuwait’s International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) and the Hayat Education Fund Association on Monday signed an agreement to launch loan program at a value of USD 140,000, to finance academic education for about 750 male and female students.

The agreement was signed by the IICO’s Jordan Director Mustafa Awwad and secretary of the Hayat fund, Ibrahim Bayoud, in the presence of the Charge d’affairs at the Kuwaiti embassy in Jordan, Counselor Dr. Mubarak Al-Hajri and embassy’s consul Fahad Al-Anzi.

The agreement embodies the slogan “Kuwait is beside you” which finances student education in universities, Dr. Al-Hajri told KUNA and stressing the importance of Kuwait extending to help around the world through charitable institutions and associations, which contribute to achieving sustainable development.

For his part, IICO’s Jordan Office Director Mustafa Awwad said the agreement comes as one of the developmental interventions to find solutions needed by individuals and families with limited income in Jordan, due to the increase in the number of students who cannot afford t pay the university fees required of them.

However, the Secretary of the Hayat Fund, Ibrahim Bayoud praised the IIOC program and its impact in providing the Hayat Fund with support that helps it continue to perform its mission of providing relief to students in Jordan.

Bayoud also praised Kuwait embassy’s role in Jordan in facilitating relief tasks and humanitarian work.

Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Hajri and the audience listened to three success stories achieved by students who graduated thanks to the support provided by the Hayat fund. (end) ab.hs
