Lebanese Foreign Minister warns of an explosion of the situation, which portends the worst in the Middle East

The Foreign Minister in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, renewed his country’s rejection of war, calling for “implementing the American-European proposal for a ceasefire.”

The Minister said in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly last night: “We renew our rejection of war and call for implementing the American-European proposal for an immediate ceasefire,” renewing Lebanon’s adherence to the necessity of implementing Resolution 1701, as it is not only necessary for Lebanon’s security, but also for the security of the Zionist entity.”

He continued: “There will be no peace in the region without implementing the two-state solution. Instead of militarizing the conflict, a diplomatic solution to the crisis must be reached.”

He considered that “the situation in Lebanon portends the worst in the Middle East, warning of a big explosion.

He stressed that Lebanon is experiencing a crisis that threatens its existence. What we are experiencing in Lebanon is the result of the occu
pation, which is considered the cause of everything we are experiencing, explaining that the Zionist entity was evading and ignoring the demarcation of the borders.

Bou Habib called for “a ceasefire on the fronts, noting that the Zionist entity is burning agricultural lands with white phosphorus because it has not been possible to cultivate them for years.”

He considered that the return of the Israelis to their settlements will not be achieved through fighting, but rather through a ceasefire, calling for giving peace a chance instead of the language of iron and fire.

Lebanon is exposed to large-scale Zionist attacks, targeting various regions, villages and towns in the south and east of the country, which led to the martyrdom and injury of nearly three thousand people, in addition to forcing thousands to flee from the targeted areas.
