Madloul bags Kuwait’s 2nd bronze at Asian Youth Athletic Championships

The Kuwaiti sprinter Abdulaziz Madloul won the bronze medal of the 800m race of the fourth Asian Youth Athletics Championships on Saturday, the third day of the continental event.

He finished in 1:54:55 minutes, adding a second bronze to the Kuwaiti squad after the one got by Ali Al-Hindal in the hammer throw event.

In statements to the press, Madloul, who participates in the continental championships for the first time, expressed joy for being able to proceed to the podium despite fierce competition from 10 rivals from across Asia.

He noted that won a similar medal at the West Asian championship, hosted recently by Lebanon, thanks to backing from Kuwait Athletes Association.

Earlier today, Al-Hindal came third in the hammer throw event after Iran’s Mehdi Gashma and India Mohammad Eman.

The championships kicked off at Kaifan stadium on Thursday and will come to a close tomorrow, Sunday
