Minister Alswaha Strengthens Tech Ties at World Economic Forum


Riyadh: Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, leveraged the World Economic Forum special meeting in Riyadh to strengthen partnerships with global tech leaders.

Alswaha met with prominent figures like Lord Mayor of London, Michael Mainelli, to explore avenues for expanding Saudi Arabia-UK collaboration in the digital economy, space exploration, and innovation. Discussions with other tech giants included Sony’s Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, Rakuten’s Hiroshi Mikitani, and Schneider Electric’s Jean-Pascal Tricoire.

These meetings focused on bolstering investment partnerships, fostering innovation, and enhancing research capabilities in areas like manufacturing, digital twins, and open access radio networks (ORAN), as well as developing Saudi Arabia’s tech talent.

Vice Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Haytham AlOhali, also participated in high-level talks. He met with Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat to explore future collaborations and the role of technology i
n driving innovation.
