Morocco boosts its auto industry position by making two new cars

Under the “Made in Morocco” label, Morocco finally unveiled the production of two cars, one of which is powered by green hydrogen, thus strengthening its position in the global automotive industry.

The announcement of these two cars, which were developed by Moroccan engineers, would enhance Morocco’s role in the industry, especially the new generation, which reduces negative impacts on the environment.

The first car was created by Neo Motors, an automobile company, and is a crossover and will run on gasoline, while being suitable for rural and mountainous areas, according to CEO of Neo Motors Nassim Belkhayat.

She revealed that it would work on developing a new version of the four-wheel crossover car.

Belkhayat set up a factory on the outskirts of the capital, Rabat, to start the manufacturing process, expecting to produce about 27,000 units annually, destined for the local market and for export, she said.

Regarding the other car designed by NamX, an automobile company, it is a Hydrogen Utility Vehicle (HUV).

This car, according to President of NamX Faouzi Annajah, is distinguished by its four-wheel drive system, green hydrogen, and a unique charging system, while being supplied with hydrogen through a central tank.

This Moroccan achievement, which took place in cooperation with leading international companies in developing the world of environmentally friendly cars, enhances Morocco’s position and makes it a competitive place for the production and export of cars.

The production capacity reached 700,000 cars, amid expectations that it will reach one million cars by 2025, destined for more than 70 countries around the world, according to figures from the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The automotive industry system in Morocco witnessed remarkable growth, especially the new generation, and it has 160 factories of various types and brands of cars, employing 220,000 qualified Moroccans and 15,000 engineers who contribute to the creation of new cars.
