Morocco, Credible Strategic Partner for France, EU (French Senators)

The Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is a credible strategic partner for France and the European Union, French senators from the Les Républicains party underlined Friday.

During an exchange in Colmar (northeast France) with the Consul General of Morocco in Strasbourg, Driss El Kaissi, Senators Sabine Drexler and Christian Klingert, members respectively of the Committee on Culture, Education and Communication and the Finance Committee in the Senate, noted that the Kingdom, through its strategic geographical position and its advanced level of development, has the potential to play an important role as a bridge between the two continents, Africa and Europe.

According to a statement by the Consulate General of Morocco in Strasbourg, the two politicians considered that the Kingdom of Morocco, given its policy of south-south cooperation, is also the right model for African countries to follow.

Morocco, they added, is a key player in the Maghreb and the Arab world and as such, is expected to play a leading role in the search for peace in the Middle East.

Similarly, both senators welcomed the Royal Initiative to launch a New Development Model that aims to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development, addressing the challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality.

Drexler and Klingert also praised the Moroccan community in France and its important role in strengthening economic and socio-cultural relations between the two countries.
