Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana snatch Africa’s tickets to World Cup ’22

– Africa’s line-up for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was completed on Tuesday after fierce return leg matches of the play-off round.

After highly-competitive and exciting matches, Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana booked the five tickets of the African continent.

The Moroccan team, or the Atlas Lions, sailed into their six World Cup appearance in emphatic form after wining the Congolese 4-1 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca.

Tunisia also secured their sixth World Cup participation despite a 0-0 draw with Mali at home benefiting from their 1-0 victory in Bamako last week.

Cameroon snatched a last minute win 2-1 over Algeria to be the third representative of the continent in Qatar World Cup.

Senegal defeated Egypt on penalties 3-1 to sail into their third World Cup appearance. Ghana qualified for their fourth World Cup after ousting Nigeria on the away goal rule following a 1-1 draw in Abuja.
