Namaa Charity distributes aid to quake-struck people in Turkiye, Syria

Kuwait’s Namaa Charity began Thursday distributing relief aid to those affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria, in conjunction with the launch of its relief campaign entitled “Earthquake Relief,” which aims to provide urgent humanitarian needs.

In a phone call to KUNA, CEO of Namaa Saad Al-Otaibi said that the charity was able to distribute 8,000 meals and over 3,000 blankets to the affected people in the areas between Syria and Turkiye.

Al-Otaibi added that 45,000 bundles of bread were also distributed to fill the severe food shortage there, pointing to the reception of Namaa field hospitals for 2,500 people injured as a result of the devastating earthquake.

The teams affiliated with Namaa are not limited to just providing food, medicine assistance and helping the wounded, but also extend to include psychological support for the displaced, especially those who have lost family members, he stated.

These trips come in line and coordination between the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs and Health, as well as Kuwait Fire Force, Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Kuwaiti charities, he mentioned.

He urged the good people of Kuwait to contribute and help through Namaa platforms and websites in order to remove the disaster and mitigate its impact.
