Omani Ambassador to Kuwait underlines bilateral relations, seeks more cooperation

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Kuwait Dr. Salem bin Amer Al-Kharousi stressed on Thursday, the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries.

This came during a press conference held on the occasion of the Omani National Day coincides on Friday.

In a press conference, Ambassador Al-Kharousi confirmed that the Kuwaiti and Omani foreign policies were on the same approach over the past 52 years in solving regional and international issues, and were enjoying rich and stable relations.

Both countries have signed many memorandums and agreement in various fields, including diplomacy, economy, culture, art, science, and sport, he said. ” In 2001 , Kuwait and Oman have launched the Joint Committee headed by Foreign ministers from both countries, that held eight sessions, awaiting the ninth session soon”, he explained.

“Regarding trade, according to statistics, trade exchange between the two countries reached USD 700 million during the past year, work is underway to enhance trade exchange rates, he noted.

As for energy, Al-Kharousi indicated that there are joint investments worth 8 billion USD, includes investing in the “Duqm” refinery project, a petrochemical factory, and crude oil storage in “Ras Markaz”.

He confirmed the desire of both countries to enhance cooperation in the field of food industry, in Fish and animal wealth and dairy products in particular, in addition to cooperation in industry projects, tourism, and green energy
