Palestinian presidency: Israel commits ‘massacre’ in Jenin to fuel situation

RAMALLAH, March 16 (KUNA) — The new ‘massacre’ committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin City Thursday aims to fuel situation and drag the region into the circle of tension and violence, Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Rudeineh said.

It is a continuation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, he added in a press statement.

“These continuous Israeli aggressive acts confirm that Israel is not at all interested in calming situation, contrary to all international efforts seeking to prevent escalation in the holy month of Ramadan,” he noted.

“Israel alone bears the consequences of these aggressive policies,” he stressed.

He stressed that the condemnations are no longer enough, calling for a practical measures on ground from the US administration to stop the unilateral Israeli measures and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli special forces killed four Palestinian youths and wounded 23 others in Jenin city, to the north of the West Bank.

These incidents came a few days before a quintet meeting due in Egypt’s resort of Sharm El-Sheikh on Sunday that features officials from Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, the US and Israel.

Sunday’s gathering is an extension of Al-Qaba meeting held on February 26, with the aim of stopping the Israeli aggression and de-escalating situation during the holy month of Ramadan. (pickup previous) nq.mmj.hm
