PM Meets The Delegation Of The Saudi Shura Council And Stresses The Importance Of Consolidating Economic And Trade Partnerships Between Iraq And Saudi Arabia


Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani met today with a delegation of the Saudi Shura Council.



During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of consolidating economic and commercial partnerships and cultural exchange relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.



The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement, “Today, Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani received a delegation of the Shura Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Qannas, Chairman of the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship Committee in the Council, in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq.”



The Prime Minister welcomed the guest delegation, stressing “the importance of sustaining and strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries, at all levels, and consolidating economic and trade partnerships and cultural exchange relations.”



He stated that “the government, since assuming its duties, has adopted a path that adopts strengthening ties and regional integration, an approach that aims to unite confrontation of the challenges and crises that the region and the brotherly and friendly peoples are going through, in addition to coordinating positions and building rapprochement relations with everyone,” indicating that “Baghdad has turned into an arena for finding solutions and commonalities, which contributes to the stability of the region.”



For its part, the Saudi delegation affirmed “the Kingdom’s appreciation for relations with Iraq at various levels, and its aspiration to participate in the proposed development projects and investment opportunities available in Iraq, in a way that raises the level of economic cooperation between the two countries.”
