Rahma Int’l continues relief aid to earthquake-hit Syria, Turkiye

The Turkiye and Syria office of the Kuwait-based Rahma International Society announced Sunday that Society is going to establish a center to shelter 3,000 people displaced by the recent quake in both countries.

The shelter includes tents, heating materials, living supplies and other essential services, head of the office Walid Al-Suwailem said in a telephone conversation with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) from the Syrian-Turkish borders.

The Society is preparing a project for distributing bread and providing support to several medical centers inside Turkiye, and that they are in the process of cooperating with all Kuwaiti charitable institutions, especially after the number of victims reached about 30,000 dead, about 90,000 injured, and about 8,500 buildings collapsed in Turkiye and various areas inside Syria, he noted.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director-General for Communications, Marketing and Information Technology Affairs at Rahma, Adnan Al-Haddad, said the emergency team was there on the first day of the tragedy, following up around the clock on the latest developments regarding the crisis, in addition to ensuring that relief aid reaches the areas most affected by the earthquake. Al-Haddad praised the incredible people, citizens, and residents, and the Kuwaiti humanitarian work, which came at the forefront of relief work in this disaster, calling on everyone for more cooperation and support to help those affected by the earthquake, which left many victims and wounded.
