Russian authorities have arrested suspected culprit of the bombing of a cafe in the city of St Petersburgh that happened on Sunday.

The Russian news agency Tass said on Monday that Darya Trepova, 26, was nabbed on suspicion of handing over the bomb, concealed in an enveloped gift to a journalist during a ceremony at the cafe.

Tass said the detainee had taken part in activities protesting Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

She had handed over the concealed bomb to a war correspondent who died when it went off. Thirty two people were also wounded in the blast that ripped through the cafe.
