Saudi Arabia Holds Iftar Banquet in Malaysia


Riyadh, The religious attaché held an iftar banquet yesterday at the Saudi embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Attending were Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Malaysia, Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Shammari, head of the Saudi Universities Alumni Association in Malaysia Dr. Ahmed Hashemi Shek, a number of Islamic, cultural and media figures, as well as Malaysian graduates from Saudi universities.

Al-Shammari said that such gatherings strengthen the fraternal bonds of Muslims across the globe and promote solidarity and unity during Ramadan.

The initiative is part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift Program to provide iftar meals to fasting individuals, carried out by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance this year, 1445 AH.

So far this Ramadan, the ministry has distributed eight tons of dates in Malaysia, from which more than 30,000 people benefited.
