Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Highlights King Abdulaziz International Competition’s Role in Promoting Quran Values


The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President of the Council of Senior Scholars and the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, has emphasized the significance of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran.

He expressed that the competition reflects the Kingdom’s and its leadership’s reverence for the Quran and their honoring of Muslim memorizers worldwide. Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh also noted that one of the blessings bestowed upon the country by Allah Almighty is its commitment to serving the Holy Quran through activities such as printing, publishing, teaching, and engaging the youth.

Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh highlighted the pivotal role of international competitions in promoting interest in the Quran. He mentioned that these competitions, supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, have significantly progressed in recent years, with the participation of
123 countries expanding the competition’s global reach and allowing many competitors to achieve recognition in this prestigious forum.

Furthermore, Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh underscored that this competition encourages Muslims to memorize the Quran, reflect on its meanings, and act according to its teachings.

Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh prayed for the best reward for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince on behalf of Muslims, praising their efforts in serving Islam and Muslims. He also invoked Allah Almighty to grant success to the contestants and to perpetuate the country’s progress, advancement, and security under its wise leadership.
