Riyadh: Saudi environmentalist Dr. Majda Abu Rass was awarded the Excellence Award for Arab Women 2023 for her environmental activity during the meeting of the Arab Women’s Committee of the League of Arab States, in yet another recognition of the achievements of Saudi women in international and local forums.

This was the 43rd meeting at ministerial level and the award was in its fourth edition.

Abu Rass distinguishes herself through her activity in environmental programs, sustainable initiatives and projects, and her numerous scientific researches on treating environmental pollutants, with a focus on soil, desert environment, environmental monitoring and management, and public awareness.

She presented effective strategic sustainable plans.

Abu Rass is a leading specialist in environmental biotechnology and treatment of soil contaminated with crude oil. She has presented several scientific researches, national and international projects and initiatives. She participated in many conferences and workshops, a
nd chaired several forums and bodies.

The Family Affairs Council (FAC) congratulated Abu Rass for winning the award, stressing keenness and interest in empowering Saudi women and boosting their presence in international and regional forums.
