Sport Minister: Saudi Arabia Plans Unprecedented Experience in Bid to Host World Cup 2034

Saudi Arabia is keen to introduce an unprecedented experience for everyone from around the world through its planned bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034, said Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

In statements today, the minister noted that the planned bid to host the tournament constitutes an important and natural step on Saudi Arabia’s path as a football passionate country. The bid also embodies Saudi Arabia’s successful track in this regard, Al-Faisal said, voicing the Kingdom’s commitment to developing various sports, including football.

The minister highlighted Saudi Arabia’s success in hosting major international sport events as well as its winning of bids to host many continental and international tournaments over the past few years.

These achievements testify to the prestigious position that the country has reached, making it an exceptional and ideal host for an extraordinary edition of the World Cup.

Furthermore, Al-Faisal shed light on the progress and renaissance that the Kingdom has witnessed at all levels with the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and direct care of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

This support has been reflected on the significant qualitative leap achieved by the sports sector in the country, the minister added.
