Sudan opens border crossing with Ethiopia

KHARTOUM, Sudan decided to open their border crossing with Ethiopia on Monday in an effort to resolve differences between both countries.

Sudan’s Security and Defense Council, headed by the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdelfattah Al-Burhan, stated that the council also decided to step up border monitoring and improve coordination between the two countries to stop the movement of armed elements across the border.

Al-Burhan and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmad discussed in a meeting on July 5, held in Nairobi, ways to resolve the dispute between both countries On June 26, Sudan decided to close their borders, saying the Ethiopian Army had killed seven Sudanese soldiers and a citizen on the joint eastern border.
