TGA Concludes the First Annual Forum for Shipowners and Operators in Saudi Arabia


Al-Khobar, Under the patronage of the Acting President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, the authority organized the first annual forum for shipowners and operators in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of 85 experts interested in the maritime sector, in Al-Khobar Governorate, according to a press release from TGA.

TGA confirmed that the largest accredited classification entities, educational institutes, centres, and major national maritime companies participated in a forum that aimed to enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences between experts and interested people.

During the forum, TGA signed a memorandum of understanding with Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore SAS to apply the best environmental and social governance practices in marine sustainability. This agreement is expected to strengthen cooperation between the two parties and help them achieve their objectives in the maritime sector.

The forum covered various topics related to the maritime se
ctor, including developments in international agreements, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, education and training, skills development of seafarers, operational efficiency, and reducing environmental impact.
