Thailand draws 15 mln tourists so far this year — spokesperson

Thailand hosted more than 15 million tourists between January and July this year, increasing by 384 percent as compared to the figure recorded in the same period of last year, the deputy government spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul said in a statement on Friday.

Revenues secured from the incomers, including Thai and foreign visitors, during the period were estimated at USD 32 billion, she said, indicating that the government strategic target was to draw a total of 25 million tourists this year.

Bulk of the tourists came from Malaysia, South Korea, India and Russia
