The Minister of Trade Heads the Iraqi Delegation to the Meetings of the 9th Session of the Iraqi-Korean Joint Committee

Minister of Trade, Atheer Dawood Al-Ghurairy, headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq in the meetings of the ninth session of the Iraqi-Korean committee in the Korean capital, Seoul, after more than six years have passed since the eighth session was held.

During the meetings, Minister Al-Ghurairi stressed that “Iraq at this stage made great efforts in economic openness and trade cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries, the fruits of which were many meetings and the holding of joint technical committees in preparation for establishing partnerships with those countries in all fields.”

At the same time, he stressed the Iraqi government’s keenness to develop its relations with all countries, including Korea, at all levels, and to seek to open joint channels of cooperation with the Korean side in various fields, and to bring closer views between businessmen in both countries.

For his part, the Korean minister affirmed his aspiration to “more business opportunities and successful requests for Korean companies, especially with the security improvement and security stability in Iraq since the defeat of ISIS until now.”

A statement of the Ministry of Trade, quoting its media office, stated that on the sidelines of the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Korean committee in its ninth session, the final minutes of the committee were signed, which included cooperation in the field of construction and housing, infrastructure and transportation, ports, trade and investment, renewable energy and inviting Korean companies to work in Iraq.
