The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN discuss developments in the situation in Sudan

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation stressed the need to coordinate with the United Nations to defuse the crisis in Sudan and to continue the humanitarian truce to deliver aid.

This came during a phone call, during which Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, discussed with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, developments in the situation in Sudan.

During the call, the two sides stressed the importance of coordination between the two organizations within the framework of regional and international efforts to defuse the crisis, stressing the need for the continuation of the humanitarian truce to deliver aid, and the importance of reaching a ceasefire and resuming the path of the peace process through dialogue and negotiation.
