The President of the Republic, Abdu al-Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed the necessity of success in holding the provincial elections, stressing the possibility of approving the general budget by the Parliament during the next few days.

During his meeting with a delegation of members of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission, the President stressed: “The importance of the role of the Electoral Commission in organizing elections and facilitating the factors for their success, as he stressed the necessity of success in conducting the next electoral process, which concerns the provincial councils.”

The President expressed the readiness of the Presidency and the Government to secure the necessary support for the Commission’s success in its work.

He also stressed that the possibility of approving the general budget by the House of Representatives during the next few days would overcome all the difficulties and requirements necessary for the work of the Commission and the conduct of the upcoming elections.

He explained to the members of the Board of Commissioners: “All efforts are directed towards fair and problem-free elections, and this is reinforced by the safe and stable situation witnessed by the various cities, and which confirms the need for great care to facilitate the provincial council elections.”

The President of the Republic listened to a detailed explanation given by the attendees, who expressed the Commission’s readiness to hold the elections at the proposed date in the middle of next December, as the attendees expressed their hope for the speedy completion of approving the budget, because of its relevance to providing logistical requirements and facilitating all election requirements.
