The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of one of its soldiers and the wounding of another one in an attack by militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement at dawn on Friday that soldier Samad Aslan was killed and another one was wounded in an attack by militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party on one of the Turkish army units in charge of the Claw Lock operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense Ministry indicated in its statement that the injured soldier was transferred to the hospital to receive treatment, and that its operations against PKK militants are continuing in the region.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish Defense had previously announced the killing of nine officers and 60 soldiers in its operations against Kurdistan Workers’ Party militants in northern Iraq, thus raising what the Turkish Defense officially announced of the Turkish Army’s losses in operations of what it called ‘Claw Lock’ / the killing of ni
