Turkish Authorities announce the rescue of 395 illegal immigrants in the west of the country

The Turkish authorities announced today, the rescue of 395 illegal immigrants in the west of the country.

The Coast Guard Command stated, in a statement, that its teams rescued 130 migrants who were on plastic boats off the shores of the regions of Focha, Qara Boron and Tshma.

The teams also seized 265 immigrants in two locations off the coast of Izmir, in addition to arresting a smuggler, adding that the immigrants were referred to the Immigration Department in the state of Izmir to take legal action.

Turkey has been facing, for years, a wave of illegal immigration from many African and Asian regions, hoping to reach the territory of the European Union.
