UN agency, Kuwait charity agree USD 23,000 aid for Rohingya refugees

The United Nations’ Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and a Kuwait-based charity agreed on Monday to deliver healthcare aid worth USD 23,000 to Bangladesh’s Rohingya refugees.

The deal, the latest initiative linking UNHCR with the Global Charity Association for Development, aims to continue the outpouring of aid for Bangladesh’s Rohingya refugees, said Nesreeen Al-Rubaiaan, the UN agency’s representative in Kuwait.

The relationship between both sides is based on “mutual trust” and a common desire to come to the aid of one of the world’s most persecuted communities, according to the Kuwaiti charity’s deputy chairman Dr. Nasser Al-Ajmi.
