UNICEF: 3 Million Children Displaced Since The Beginning Of The Sudan Crisis

Baghdad, The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that 3 million children have been displaced since the beginning of the conflict in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

UNICEF said in a statement: “Coinciding with the 200th day of the conflict between the Sudanese parties, the international community and the parties to the conflict must intensify their efforts and search for solutions to the problems of millions of children and families who live nightmares every day.”

It pointed out that children are “paying the highest price,” and that Sudan is currently witnessing the largest displacement crisis of children in the world in search of safety, food, health care, and shelter, and that 14 million children in Sudan are in “urgent” need of humanitarian aid.”

Since mid-April, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been waging battles that a series of truces have not been able to stop, leaving thousands dead and millions displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations.
