US Ambassador Visits International Falcon Breeders Auction


US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Michael Ratney visited today the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2024, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh.

The US ambassador toured the leading falcon breeding farms, which display various breeds of falcons, and listened to an explanation of the production methods adopted by farm owners to produce distinctive types of falcons. Photos were taken of the ambassador with the falcons during the tour, in which he visited the Falconer of the Future pavilion, designated for junior falconers, and was briefed on Saudi cultural heritage, and how falconry was inherited over generations.

The ambassador also learned about the auctioning process on falcons, as two falcons produced in an American farm were displayed during the event.

The International Falcon Breeders Auction concludes its activities on August 24, gathering the elite breeds of falcons produced in the world in the largest event of its kind in the world, and wh
ich has become an international hub where falconers and falcon breeders meet annually, reflecting the efforts of the Saudi Falcons Club in preserving the ancient historical and human legacy of falconry.
