Al-Ghanim to attend 144th IPU Conference in Indonesia

 

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim on Thursday advanced to Bali Island to take part in the 144th Assembly of the IPU (Inter-Parliamentary Union) Conference, which will commence from the 19 to 24th of March.
Proceeding his departure to Indonesia, Al-Ghanim was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Ahmad Al-Shohoumi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al-Rajhi, along with Lena Mariana Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait.
Heading the Kuwaiti delegation, Al-Ghanim is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference that is undertaking the slogan of Mobilizing parliaments to act on climate change.
The delegates will be attending coordination meetings of Arab, Islamic, and Asian geopolitical groups in order to barter ideas on topics to be brought-up for discussion and unify their stance on the matters.
They will also take part in the permanent and subsidiary committees meetings encompassing information technology, telecommunications in education sects, direct development in nations experiencing large volumes of migrants, all forms of human trafficking, and Parliament’s role in health issues during COVID-19 pandemic, preservation of civil freedom, and lasting peace.
