An earthquake recorded in Maysan


The Ministry of Transport announced, on Friday, that its seismic observatories at the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake this morning, September 8, 2023, in Maysan Governorate.



The Ministry stated in a statement, “The earthquake was recorded at 11:41:41 this morning local time, and its magnitude reached 3.1 degrees near the Iraqi-Iranian border, 58 km southeast of Ali al-Gharbi in Maysan Governorate.”



It added, “It was not felt by the citizens and we did not suffer any significant losses,” calling on citizens to “take caution, stay away from rumors and false news, and adhere to the seismic commandments issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.”/End
