Fourth UK MP quits

British MP David Warburton, who was suspended from the Conservative Party, has resigned from parliament, becoming the fourth MP in eight days to announce resignation.

Warburton announced his resignation in an interview with a local newspaper to refute recent accusations of misconduct and taking drugs.

He said the past 14 months since allegations were published in a national newspaper had been “extraordinarily difficult”.

Warburton’s resignation came a few days after Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Nadine Dorries and Nigel Adams had quit due to different reasons.
