Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) will launch on Sunday its campaign against drugs, themed “drugs are your destruction” via its news outlets addressing all segments of the society particularly the youth.

KUNA Director General Dr. Fatma Al-Salem said in a statement on Saturday that the enlightenment campaign is in line with KUNA’s role and advocacy of social responsibility for immunizing the society and enhancing awareness among the youngsters regarding the drugs’ hazards.

All State authorities and bodies, in addition to private institutions, have been “waging a ferocious war” against the scourge.

Dr. Al-Salem lauded a Cabinet Resolution issued in the end of October, launching the national campaign for combating narcotics, in line with guidelines by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for sake of protecting the young citizens.

The government-launched campaign aims at raising the awareness of this hazard and treating the afflicted privately, she added.

KUNA through its campaign will broadcast news and photo items via all its outlets for encouraging treatment and backing up other State bodies engaged in fighting the danger.
