Arab leaders hold urgent summit in Makkah

MAKKAH, Arab leaders began an urgent summit in the Saudi holy city of Makkah Thursday night to discuss critical challenges posing threats to security and stability of the region and the Middle East in general.

The leaders would be discussing means of unifying positions regarding a host of isses like the Middle East peace process, conflicts in Yemen and Syria, as well as uncertainties in Algeria and Sudan.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulziz called for the urgent summit following attacks on commercial ships off the UAE and Houthis’ drone attack on oil pumping stations in Saudi Araba.

Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held a urgent summit over the major regional challenges.
