KUWAIT, Countries on Saturday continued updating their lists of the novel coronavirus victims as they grappled to contain the deadly bug and minimize its casualties.
Italy confirmed 2,795 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections to 17,750, while the deaths reached 1,441.
During a press conference, Head of the civil defense Angelo Borrelli said that the total number of infections in Italy has increased in the past 24 hours to 17,750, of whom 8,372 are under hospital care in addition to 1,518 who are undergoing intensive care treatment.
Borrelli noted that the total number of recoveries reached 1,966 after confirming 527 recovery cases today.
In Germany, the German parliament (Bundestag) announced the registration of three new coronavirus cases among parliamentarians, bringing the number of infected MPs to four.
The parliament said in a statement that the three deputies belonged to the Green Party and the Liberal Party, without revealing the identity of the infected.
Earlier today, the German authorities announced the increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus to 3,642 cases and deaths to eight.
Meanwhile, in Austria, the authorities announced that 53 new coronavirus cases were registered, bringing the total number to 655.
In a report, the Ministry of Health said that 7,467 tests have been conducted in various regions so far, while six cases of those infected with the virus have been cured and one death has been recorded.
