MUSCAT, Kuwait’s MP Ali Al-Deqbasi said Tuesday that GCC-member states are keen on attaining sustainable development goals for their people.
“GCC countries are able to overcome the past and direct all potentials toward achieving the council’s desired goals”, Al-Deqbasi told KUNA.
He made his remarks on the sidelines of his participation in a Gulf symposium entitled “Legislative councils’ role in attaining sustainable development”.
Attaining sustainable development is among the council’s key aims, he said, adding Gulf states have come a long way in this field and made notable efforts through countering poverty, boosting education, and strengthening economy.
According to key indicators, GCC member-states are among the advanced in the sustainable development domain, the Kuwaiti MP said, affirming a consensus among participants of the symposium on the importance of exchanging legislative expertise between Gulf parliaments.
Meanwhile, Al-Deqbasi mentioned the participants’ sincere concern and reassurance on His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s health.
They all prayed for His Highness’s wellness and longevity, and highlighted his role in boosting and preserving the GCC march.
Moreover, Al-Deqbasi reiterated Kuwait’s confidence in His Highness the Amir’s wise policy, noting it had a great impact on bolstering Gulf joint action.
