Iran denies blocking of its assets in Germany

Iranian authorities on Saturday dismissed reports on the freezing of the country’s assets in Germany, as untrue and baseless.

Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Bahram Qasemi was quoted by Fars news agency as saying that economic relations between Iran and Germany are normal, and that the parties of the nuclear deal, including Germany, had discussed in Vienna Friday closer economic and banking cooperation with Tehran.

An Iranian member of parliament said earlier in a statement to Fars news agency that some Iranian assets had been frozen by Germany.
