Israeli artillery shells east Gaza

GAZA, Israeli artillery shelled targets in Gaza early Wednesday amid heavy intensive flights of fighters near the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, but no injuries were reported.

Israeli tanks positioned on the border of east Gaza Strip fired several shells at Palestinian targets near the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, local media reported.

The shelling came during a limited military incursion into the Gaza Strip, which was conducting dredging operations near the Karni crossing east of Gaza city, the media reported.

Israeli retaliation came after a Palestinian bomb attack on an Israeli army’s enginering unit working inside the Hamas-Gaza territory, Israeli media reported.

Since the past weeks, Israeli army has been building platforms mounds near Gaza to prevent Palestinians demonstrators from reaching to the security fence.
