Italy restates opposition to military intervention in Libya

ROME, The Italian Foreign Ministry Friday echoed its objection to any foreign military intervention in Libya as requested by the UN-recognized Libyan government from Rome, Washington, London, Algiers and Ankara.

The ministry said in a statement that the Libyan conflict should be resolved by political, rather than, military, means, Italy’s news agency, ANSA reported.

It also reiterated Italy’s backing for inclusive dialogue in Libya involving all rivals.
