AMMAN, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) on Monday signed an agreement with Jordan to provide a grant worth USD six million to meet the educational needs of Syrian refugees the country is hosting.
The grant will cover building and fully equipping two schools in the capital Amman.
The agreement is part of the visit of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and on the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the Kuwaiti-Jordanian joint supreme committee.
In a statement to KUNA on Monday, KFAED’s Director-General Abdulwahab Al-Bader said the fund is giving the grant on behalf of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
He added that the grant is part of KFAS’ pledge to donate USD 50 million during a three-year period to help host countries in providing proper education for Syrian refugees.
