KUWAIT, Manchester City set their hosts West Ham United to rout 5-0 on Saturday in their maiden match of the English Premier League.
The champions scored their first goal of the season when Gabriel Jesus scored the opener at the minute 25.
They doubled their advantage six minutes into the second half when Raheem Sterling scored the visitors’ second goal at the minute 51.
After Jesus’ VAR-denied effort, Sterling scored once more at the minute 75 before he scored his third and hat-trick in injury time to complete the rout.
As the visitors were awarded a penalty retake, Sergio Aguero gave his team a five-goal lead.
Today’s game saw the video assistant referee play a significant role for the first time in the Premier League.
