KUWAIT, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan arrived in Ankara on Tuesday on an official visit to Turkey to discuss trade and investment with emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
During his talks with Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank tomorrow, he will explore the possibility of launching more joint investment projects and opening new horizons for industrial and technological fields.
The visit aims to promote the experience sharing in the development and management of SMEs and industrial zones, as well as investment in industry and technology, according to a statement by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Kuwait attaches great importance to joint investment with Turkey given the promising opportunities in the energy, petrochemical, mining, engineering and logistics industries, the statement pointed out.
Minister Al-Roudhan will also discuss with the Turkish side how to establish a mechanism to address the challenges facing investors in the industrial zones, it added.
During his two-day stay in Ankara, Al-Roudhan will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and tour Ankara Chamber of Industry, Turkish chamber of commerce, Istanbul Technopark and Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.
Kuwait’s exports to Turkey amounted in value to USD 157.369 million last year while its imports hit USD 699.441 million.
