French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday described the attack, which took place in southern France, as a “terrorist” act.
Speaking at a news conference at the conclusion of a security meeting in Paris, Macron said the attack killed three people and wounded 16 others, two of them are in critical condition.
The so-called Islamic State (IS) claimed its responsibility for the attack occurred in a store in southern France earlier in the day.
He noted that security apparatuses are still scrutinizing the IS’ claim of its responsibility for the incident.
Macron stressed his absolute determination to counter terrorism, urging French people to be aware of terrorist threats.
He, at the same time, appeal to them to realize their strength and resistance which appear every time they face attacks.
