The National Security Agents Council holds its session headed by Al-Araji

Baghdad, The National Security Agents Council held today its seventh session for the year 2024, headed by National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji.

According to a statement by the National Security Chencellry, the Council discussed the topics on the agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them.

In line with the Iraqi government’s decision to declare public mourning for the victims of the presidential plane accident that killed the late President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, his Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his entourage, the Council began its meeting by reading Surat Al-Fatihah, to athe souls of the victims and in solidarity with the plight of the people and leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The session also witnessed a brief presentation of the National Security Strategy for the years 2024-2028, prepared by the National Security Chencellry and supporting parties, and which was approved in the Ministerial National Security Council at the session (
5/2024).

The Council discussed (a study on the phenomenon of slums… problems and solutions) and recommended reconsidering the study in question and completing its axes, in line with the observations presented in the Council.

During the session, a draft (memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the National Security Service in the Republic of Iraq and the Presidency of Saudi State Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) was presented and discussed, which was approved and the head of the National Security Service was authorized to negotiate and sign.
