Turkish Airlines suspends flights to China due to coronavirus

ANKARATurkish Airlines Friday announced the suspension of its flights to four destinations in China, starting today due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The suspension of flights includes the capital, Beijing, cities of Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xi’an, and will continue until February 9, said the company’s Vice President of Public Relations Ustun Yahya in a statement.

“We decided to suspend our flights to these cities in order to assess the situation and recent developments resulting from the Coronavirus with the Turkish and international authorities,” Yahya added.

Several airlines had announced earlier their decision to suspend flights to China due to the spread of the coronavirus.
